We’re Max and Julia – a young couple who met where it all started: at the legendary Café Nord. What began as a shared love for music, subculture, and the alternative scene has grown into a shared vision: the Rock City Apartments. We created this space because it’s exactly the kind of place we wished we had found back in the day – a stay with personality, edge, and atmosphere. Not a soulless hotel room or a generic Airbnb, but a place that reflects the spirit of the city and the people who make it special. Our mission is to help preserve this unique building that has long been part of Essen’s alternative culture – and at the same time offer guests a place that feels real.
